Police Sting Targets Prostitution, Drugs
Matt Robbins KIAH November 4, 2009
Constable Precinct 7 is raiding boarding houses in Houston’s westside. The community has been complaining of heavy drug use and prostitution coming from this area, something the constables will not stand for.
“We have the same situation with the rest of these boarding houses. An increase of burglaries in the neighborhood, thefts from people who lived here,” said Captain J. M. Phillips Jr., Constable Precinct 7.
Their primary goal is to come in and sweep the house, to make sure there’s no drugs or illegal contraband present. Second, to make sure the residents themselves are okay.
“To make sure the person’s welfare is taken care of mainly, but look at this, I mean, people are living in this and the owners of these boarding houses just don’t care,” said Phillips.
