Even though the 25-year-old star often wears skimpy outfits and her songs contain suggestive lyrics, her religious parents are happy with her chosen career path. They never worry she will go off the rails because deep down she is a sensible person.
“My goal was never to be rebellious. I first started singing in church. My parents were strict but not stuffy. We had fun but I wasn’t allowed to watch MTV. When I moved out I just became this living, breathing sponge,” Katy revealed in an interview for the September issue of the British edition of Glamour magazine. “My parents and I have a lovely relationship probably because they realise I’m not going to turn into a crazy person or a prostitute or Charles Manson.”
