In response to citizen complaints, Officer S. Roccoport and his partner, both of the Houston Police Department’s Vice Division, were assigned to investigate allegations of prostitution at the “Golden Times Spa.” On May 6, 2008, the two officers, separately and undercover, entered the massage parlor. After they paid a fifty dollar admission fee, an unidentified woman led Officer Roccoport to a private room and instructed him to undress. He undressed completely and lay on a massage table in the room. Appellant entered the room, and, for approximately fifteen minutes, she massaged Officer Roccoport’s back and lower legs. She asked him to roll over, massaged his chest, and then pointed to his penis and asked, in English, whether he would like her to massage that as well. Officer Roccoport said yes, and he asked what else he could get. He specifically asked for a “blow job,” but appellant declined to perform oral sex on him. Using hand signals, he asked her to masturbate him. He asked whether this service was extra, and appellant said it was and held up five fingers to indicate that it would cost an extra fifty dollars. Officer Roccoport arrested appellant.

Tighter restrictions on massage parlors in Bibb County could force them to move south to Houston County. That’s according to Nicole Poss with HODAC and some Houston County law enforcement agencies.
Poss says the businesses often carry ties to the human trafficking trade, and they want the community to recognize the signs, before it becomes a problem.
Pam Floyd at Harvest Church says hearing about human trafficking close to home sparked an idea for ministry. She said, You think it’s somewhere else in the world, and you think it’s so far away from home.”

Nicole Poss at HODAC says the trade includes selling underage girls for sex, forcing foreign women into domestic servitude, and often ties into illegal activities in massage parlors. That’s why part of their focus includes keeping the spas out of Houston County.

The Hmong people were never recognized as political refugees in Thailand despite of UNHCR believing otherwise. Hmong people would be sent back to their home town after the government finishes their background checks. However, the government will relocate those victims who no longer have a place to stay. 
India: A 14 years old female orphan who was subject to domestic servitude was rescued by the child helpline. According to the report, she was frequently abused physically and emotionally by her employer. The couple who abused the child victim  are facing multiple charges including “buying minor for the purpose of prostitution and child labor.”

South Africa: A Thai woman was arrested for trafficking women from Thailand. She allegedly promised Thai girls a job at her massage parlor in South Africa, but forced them into prostitution.
